A few years ago I started to feel really burnt out on ‘the game’ in general. I was pushing really hard and seeing relatively few results, largely due to a lot of factors outside my control. At the same time, virtually all the media I was consuming (books, podcasts, youtube videos) was about finance, economics, crypto, securities, real estate, virtually anything I thought could make me money. It was nearing December and I was feeling about as great as Disney’s CEO did after looking at Snow White’s IMDB rating... 

Then I had an idea. What if I gave myself a break? Like… just a break from my relentless pursuit of financial freedom and fortune? So I thought I’d give it a try. I didn’t allow myself to consume virtually anything remotely related to money for the entire month of December. I also didn’t allow myself to look at any real estate deals for the entire month. Was it tough for me? YES! However I knew if you don’t take care of burnout it takes care of you… in a way you won’t want!

So… did it help? Yes! By Jan 1 I was itching to get back at it! I also felt like my creativity and clarity were greatly improved. Whatever your goals are, it’s easy to get burn out on the pursuit. Especially when those goals are really really freakin hard!

So my question for you is… do you have a goal you feel ‘burnt out’ on? If so… is it time for a break?
